Ingredients

  • 1 cup of room temperature water
  • 1/3 cup sugar for the dough and a little more for sprinkling
  • 30g fresh yeast
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • Filling: 4 cups of wheat flour
  • Filling: 1 large apple or guava jam
  • Filling: ground cinnamon to taste

Steps

  • Step 1: In a bowl mix the water, sugar and yeast and then add the oil

  • Step 2: Sift 3 cups of flour into a bowl, mix and only then add the fourth and last cup, mixing by hand

  • Step 3: On a bench work the dough well until it no longer sticks to the hand, it is light and uniform

  • Step 4: Place the dough to rest on a floured surface for at least 1 hour and a half, covered with a clean cloth

  • Step 5: Separate the dough into smaller pieces or divide it in half and open half the dough with a rolling pin

  • Step 6: Forre a tray with a removable bottom with the very thick dough, pressing the sides well

  • Step 7: Apple filling: Put sugar, chopped apple and finish with more sugar and cinnamon on top, let it rest for 10 minutes and bake for 30 minutes (medium power)

  • Step 8: Guavada filling: Open small parts of the dough and fill with guava paste, let rise on a floured board for 10 minutes and bake in a medium oven for approximately 20 to 30 minutes

Tips

  • 1: Let the dough rise in a place where there is no draft, if you live in a very cold place let the dough rest inside the oven turned off

  • 2: Sweet breads always bake faster than savory breads and tend to brown even without brushing anything on top

  • 3: If your dough is sticking to the worktop, you need to check that the worktop is dry, if it is, rub a little oil or flour on the surface
