Ingredients

  • 1 cup (of tea) of raw almonds
  • 3 cups (of tea) of filtered water
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps

  • Step 1: In a deep bowl, place the almonds covered with twice as much water (well covered), and let them soak for 12 hours

  • Step 2: Drain the water and put the almonds in a blender along with the water and the vanilla essence. Beat everything until it turns into a creamy mixture

  • Step 3: Coe in a very fine sieve or with a sanitized cloth

Tips

  • 1: With 8 hours of soaking it is already possible to use it, but with 12 hours the almonds become softer

  • 2: If it's too hot, cover the bowl and let the almonds soak in the fridge

  • 3: Do not throw away the waste after straining, because they are nutritious and can be used in other recipes, such as pâtés, cakes, breads, smoothies, or even in salads

  • 4: To make broths like white sauce, don't use vanilla essence

  • 5: If you store it well in the fridge, it lasts approximately 5 days, stir it before consuming

  • 6: You can use dates instead of vanilla essence
