Ingredients

  • 2 cups of cornmeal
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup of oil
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 full teaspoon of baking powder
  • Optional: sweet herb to taste

Steps

  • Step 1: Preheat the oven to 180°C a few minutes before baking.

  • Step 2: In a large bowl, mix together 2 cups of cornmeal, 1 cup of wheat flour, 1 cup of sugar, and 1/2 cup of oil. Add sweet herb to taste if desired.

  • Step 3: Gradually add the cup of water and mix until needed. Add up to an additional 1/2 cup of water if necessary.

  • Step 4: Add the baking powder and mix with a spoon.

  • Step 5: Pour the mixture into a greased pan with oil.

  • Step 6: Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Tips

  • 1: You don't need a mixer; you can mix with a wooden spoon instead.
